A Second Chance for Johannesburg’s Ponte Tower

Ponte Tower, designed by architect Manfred Hermer during the 1970’s, was a most coveted place to live with its hollowed out interior, three-story apartments and rooftop jacuzzis. The still iconic tower slowly decayed to a point that Ponte is synonymous with crime, poverty and suicide.

However, there seems to be a silver lining in the cloud hanging over Ponte, which recently has drawn attention from investors and Hermer who hope to make Ponte a decent place to live again.
