I think this is such an achievement I watched it marching across the ground in Midrand over a year till they tested the first train.

The speed and finish of the project its scop and immensity I think is lost on most people who just see a pile of building sand which is sad
Hats off to the engineers and planners I am one very proud to have seen this amazing development that will place us in the same league as major cities in the world where someone does not have to fetch me from the airport

I would be interested to know if the designers of the Gautrain project are using Universal Design Consultants, or Access consultants, to ensure that the project will be fully accessible throughout to all members of society. Given the dearth of regulations in this regard, with relation to accessibility on public transport in South Africa, I would be interested if (and indeed which!) international best practices are being followed.
