Comment by Claire Venter on November 10, 2011 at 11:39 Hi Gavin, Selwyn's company is Kestrel Originals, We've worked with them before and supply paint for their work.
Comment by Francois Swanepoel on November 10, 2011 at 11:02 Hi Natasha
You can also contact Lisa Balz I recently helped her with drawings for a container project. She will be able to help you with your request.
Comment by Gavin Tonks on November 10, 2011 at 10:16 The thing is the insurance so you would need to ensure the insurance company will ensure the construction I would speak to them about it first if their is a construction issue
Comment by Gavin Tonks on November 10, 2011 at 10:14 Hi Natasha I have known them for years so have forgotten the business name hahha just speak to them. Selwyn has worked quite extensively even for Oprah. They run a small enterprise but their work is exelent
i am currently using africaoliveconcept and their pricing and methods are excellent.
Comment by Natasha Clinton on November 10, 2011 at 9:53 Thanks Gavin, our library contains a cantilever which many companies did not want to take the risk on, hopefully they will. Do you have the name of the company?
Hi Natasha we spent a lot of time developing container concepts and I have a fabricator with the required skill
Selwyn Griffith 0834400022
Pam 0833819177
They do architectural steel but I worked closely with them on the insulation and construction and finishes required, plus they are steel specialists as you do not always get perfect containers
Comment by Natasha Clinton on November 10, 2011 at 9:36 Good morning, I am not sure if this is the right group to post this query into but its worth a shot. Does anyone know of any companies working with steel who have experience converting containers into that which can be used architecturally?
Thanks.
Comment by Wayne Bruun on September 20, 2011 at 19:03 There are really numerous different so called "green" building alternatives around, and in my opinion, all of them have a place in our market. On doing research to enter the alternative building methodologies, I realized that the only one that caught my fancy was Light Steel Frame. The reason is that it has been proven in Aus , NZ, Middle East and Europe, in fact all over the world. In SA LSF has its own SABS code and that makes a big difference to me. Saying that, I use a few different systems and it works well.
