- NCS is the understandable international colour order system for colour selection, specification, communication and the control of colour in design, architecture, research, marketing and manufacturing. It is based on how people see colour.
The logical colour notation system builds on how humans see colour; a notation represents a specific colour precept and describes the colour visually. It is not dependant on the limitations caused by pigments, light rays or nerve signals.
The Swedish government took the initiative on colour determination and classification in the 1950s and what has evolved is the NCS, which has become the international standard for colour classification. South Africa is compliant; the South African Standard (SANS 1091), which adopts NCS, was enabled in 2004. For additional information http://www.ncscolour.com
Corporate colour consultant and colour specialist Lisa Taylor was instrumental in the adoption of The NATURAL COLOUR SYSTEM (NCS) by national authorities. Since then she has converted various other public and private sector manufacturing and colour specifying bodies to the NCS because of the accuracy of its colour notation formulas and matching principles.

ADVANCED COLOUR DESIGN Building on the “Basic one-day NCS Use of colour in Architecture”.
NCS Colour Centre SA is thrilled to announce that the NCS Advanced Colour Design Course has been accredited and validated by SAIAT! SACAP Registered Attendees will be able to claim 4 (four) Category 1 CPD credits for attending this course.
From June 2008 to April 2010 the NCS basic one day course (accredited and validated by SAIA for 2 (two) CPD credits in Category 1) has seen 558 SACAP member attending throughout Southern Africa. Now we are able to fulfil the request for further studies.

The meaning of red and green at Christmas ... and why Santa wears red
Ok so this has next to nothing to do with Christmas but its still colour!
Red and green mean it's Christmas time. These colors might not tell the story of divine birth, but they do tell a story of the Christian past.
Green, experts say, might be a throwback to the pagan winter festivals when greenery was used. Also, green comes from the pine tree and the holly, which retain their color in winter.
The meaning of red is open to debate. People speculate that red represents the blood of Christ. It… Continue

I think I figured it out...I thought colleagues meant only people in the same company as myself but I realised now that this site sees colleagues the same way facebook sees friends :-) cos now we are friends on designmind!
