Diffrient World Chair - "the simplest, smartest, most sustainable task chair on the planet!"

The latest creation from design legend Niels Diffrient is set to reach SA in early 2010. Utilising the same ergonomic functions as the award winning Liberty Chair, this tasking seating solution is set to to take the world by storm. A completely modular design with only 8 major parts - weighing less than 13kgs - the World Chair will comfortably compete with any local product on price point but more importantly it will have attached to it a 15 year guarantee and 48 hour 24/7 service plan.

Among the chair's most important features is the patent-pending Form-Sensing Mesh Technology, which instinctively adapts to the unique shape of each user for custom lumbar support, thus eliminating the need for external lumbar devices or manual adjustment. Another important feature, the dynamic, weight-sensitive, counterbalance recline provides the appropriate recline support—also without manual controls—for 95 percent of users. "The laws of physics have replaced mechanical parts," notes Humanscale president Bob King.

Humanscale products are now available in South Africa through their exclusive International Dealer Partner, Formfunc Studio. Any queries regarding the product line can be posted to studio@formfunc.co.za.

Prices are highly volume dependant as we're not holding stock for the 1st 6 months.

The World chair is currently undergoing final tooling in the EU to comply with H&S safety regs. We expect updates from Humanscale during the course of this month and estimate that the chair will retail for approximately R5000 ex Vat.

We'll also have provision within this pricing model for trade discounts of up to 45% again dependant on volume. So the end user can expect to pay anywhere between R2800 and R4000. Larger trade discounts are available to design professionals for their personal company use.
