Reimagining retail: New designs, same quality at Mobelli’s new concept store

The much-anticipated Mobelli Furniture + Living concept store opened in the new extension of the  Fourways Mall on Thursday 22 August, bringing an unrivalled selection of design-led furniture to life through an experiential retail offering.

The concept store showcases the latest designs in high-quality furniture for both indoor and outdoor living space.

In an exclusive launch of the new opening, guests were treated to a VIP walk-through of the store with Alon Sachs, co-founder of Mobelli Furniture + Living, leading expert in indoor and outdoor furniture

“The space will bring new ideas together to create a better shopping experience, rather than just displaying furniture in a showroom setting.

“We wanted to bring curated spaces to life. The concept store features inspirational room settings, an exhibition area showcasing the newest additions to our range, as well as Luxe zone which creates an in-home look and feel,” explains Sachs.

The space has been curated, with the input of leading retail consultants, to offer something fresh and new to the furniture retail industry.

“Retail needs to be reimagined. We need to create an experience where people can get ideas and inspiration and see what is available.  We wanted to have the customer in mind throughout the design process and we gave ourselves permission to try new things which are not traditionally found in a retail space,” Sachs says.

A space for growth

The move toward a concept store within a retail space comes as South Africa shows surprising retail growth during the second quarter, growing by more than 2% in every month of the quarter, according to Statistics South Africa.

“The new look Fourways Mall is the largest mall in Africa and offers the perfect opportunity for Mobelli to move into a mall environment.

“The design and scale of the new area features some of the best stores in the country where brands have excelled with innovative store designs. The mall itself is so magnificent and inspiring we had to be there. The ethos that went into designing the mall is an exact fit with what we at Mobelli embrace, which made this an obvious partnership,” says Sachs.

Including a concept store in the mall redevelopment will make the brand and its story more accessible, explains Sachs, which is essential during tough economic times.  “This new concept store will bring more design choices to existing customers and will inspire new customers’ décor needs. We’ve enjoyed ongoing support from our discerning Fourways customers over the years, and the new store concept illustrates our commitment to offering only the highest quality furniture to our clients,” concludes Sachs.
